So the whole world is predicting Florida, Texas and Oklahoma as the three favorites this season. Of course the return of Tebow, McCoy and Bradford has a lot to do with this prediction and it very difficult to argue differently. I'll give it a shot, but only for Fl and OK.
The winner of the Oklahoma/Texas game has the inside track to the title game. I think Texas wins the game. Texas has a weak non-conference schedule so one other team Big 12 team has to beat the Longhorns for them to fall out of the race. Unlikely.
Oklahoma will lose to Texas and not recover this season. Oklahoma will end up in the Fiesta Bowl.
A miracle must happen for Florida to miss out on a chance for a third title in four years. Can the Gators beat LSU twice in one season? If so, Florida returns to the title game. If not, a regular season loss can be overcome. A SEC Championship game loss will cost them the shot. I think Florida loses to LSU in the title game sending LSU to the Sugar Bowl and Florida to another BCS Bowl.
Two teams waiting in the wings are USC and Penn St. I think USC loses one game. Penn St runs the tabl based on schedule alone.
Look for Penn St to play Texas for the title. I'm inclined to yawn at this point considering 2009 has the potential for being one of the best seasons ever.
Other Sleeper teams include Va Tech, Ohio St and Rutgers - yes Rutgers.
